A Special Screening of Mogul Mowgli as part of the Tongues on Fire Unspoken Film Festival - a bold new platform using cinema to challenge stigma, break silence and amplify voices around emotional well being.
Mogul Mowgli is the story of British Pakistani rapper Zed who is on the brink of stardom when he is struck down by a mysterious illness which forces him to return home and face family and heritage he left behind. Riz Ahmed’s powerful film directed by Bassam Tariq blends music, memory and surreal imagery in a moving story about identity, ambition, and the body’s betrayal.
The film will be followed by a Q&A between Professor Carmine Pariante and Sudha Bhuchar who will also introduce the film
The film stars Alyy Khan as Zed’s father Bashir and Sudha Bhuchar as his mother, Nasra.
